Hotels on Twitter
By: Tissha Lela
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts
Sheraton tweets a few
days apart, once or twice a day and post content about promotions with their
SPG membership and their different hotels around the world. They do not use the
50/50 rule on Twitter because they only post about themselves, however, there
are other content but it speaks about pairing foods with drinks and has nothing
to do with the hotel industry itself. They speak about the different events
they hold with hashtags relevant to those events and use other hashtags such as
#spglife, #sheratonclub, #sheratonpresents, and #sheratongrand. Their most
successful tweet is a sweepstakes they had called Delight Delays Sweeps. It was
successful because it gave everyone a chance to enter and win a trip to turn your
delays into delights, also, it is easy to enter and all you have to do is tweet
to them about what your delay may be even outside of traveling.
