SEO Analysis of Sheraton & Best Western

Information about the brands

This post is a brief review about the Search Engine Optimization Analysis of Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and Best Western Hotels & Resorts.


Introduction

Marketers’ benefit from SEO because it is an easy and efficient way to find out the top companies, brands, or businesses for anything in which is searched for online. In the hotels industry, Sheraton and Best Western have fairly good SEO in different ways in which mean that they get many visitors on their site by using keywords on their sites such as “Experience” and “Mobile” in the mission to provide and be the best Hotel Services. They have similar keywords on their sites but are worded different in which can make a difference in their SEO. Both sites offer similar services but the experience will differ to certain people. Sheraton has more engagement on their website and can experience certain things online alone. Best western has less content on their website but you still can experience a lot online. The goal is to decide which of the two sites when compared has a stronger SEO for the best hotel services and experience.

Google Trends Insights:

According to Google Trends, hotels are a very popular subject in Yukon Territory but the keyword Toronto Hotels is most searched for. Sheraton Hotels and Resorts may not be of much interest because they are more known outside of Canada. Best Western has the most interest in Prince Edward Island with its name being searched for the most and the word hotel next to it. Hotels in general have a really high interest over the year than Sheraton and Best Western alone, especially in the month of July. However, Best Western is more popular in interest than Sheraton in July as well, in Canada.

Summary:

Sheraton has minimal writing on their website but with only a few words they capture your attention to click on further, it is easy to find a hotel and book because it is the first thing you see when you go onto their homepage. They use a lot of pictures that are visually appealing and engaging to click on. The tone on their website represents their brand and has a more business/professional look to it. Best Western emphasizes their deals to make you want to click on it. They make it easy to find a hotel and book online since it is at the top of the page. They have a tab on their homepage just for deals and offers which is very appealing to the eye. Experience is found mostly on Sheraton’s website a few times whereas Mobile is found on both sites. I noticed that Sheraton has find and book in two places on their website, both at the top but one is a tab and the other is right there as soon as you enter their website. I noticed that Best Western has on their homepage that they earned the most industry awards of any hotel brand. After I did a search on Sleep Experience, World of Rewards, and Mobile Options, Sheraton came up on the third page. After doing a search on Go Mobile, Check Reservations, and Find a Hotel, Best Western came up on the second page. Both of these sites try to get you to click on certain things in order to go further into their website for more information or to sign-up for something but they are also different with the amount of content on their homepages and their pictures because Sheraton has more to do on their website with a lot of pictures but Best Western does not have much on their homepage and just a few images.

Conclusion:

In the hotels industry, Sheraton and Best Western are completely different from each other because one uses keywords on their site like Sleep Experience, World of Rewards, and Mobile Options, while the other uses keywords on their site like Go Mobile, Check Reservations, and Find a Hotel to be found through SEO. In conclusion, the one who tops this SEO search analysis is Best Western.

Sheraton has fairly good SEO because doing a quick search on certain keywords from their site like, sleep experience, world of rewards, and mobile options, they will come up on the first page between the fifth and ninth result.

Best Western, however, has a slightly different SEO because after doing a search on the keyword go mobile, there is no results, check reservations, they appear on the first page as the fifth result, and find a hotel, they appear on the second page as the last result, all of these are excluding ads.

As a conclusion, Sheraton has more content on their website whereas Best Western does not and because of this they both differentiate in SEO with just keywords throughout their sites.
